Grizzly Newsletter

Dear Grizzly Families,

Greetings as we embark on the 2024-25 school year. I am Shannon Lockard, and it is a privilege to serve as the Principal of Ray Reynolds Middle School. With over 19 years of experience in education, my journey has included roles as a middle school teacher, literacy coach, assistant principal, and principal. I am thrilled to begin my fifth year at Reynolds Middle School, where we are committed to offering an inclusive and well-rounded education, bridging opportunity gaps to ensure all students achieve success. At Reynolds we GROWL, which means we demonstrate Growth, Resilience, Openness, Wisdom, and Leadership.

We are eager to begin a new school year and look forward to collaborating with you in the education and support of your child.

Cell Phone Policy for the 2024-2025 School Year

To continue supporting a safe and connected school environment that promotes enhanced learning, students must keep their cell phones in their backpacks and out of sight during the school day. The Cell Phone Policy can be found on our website.

The goal of our cell phone policy is to increase student engagement in the classroom and to create a culture of respect for learning. Data shows that students are more focused and have higher test scores and grades when cell phones are kept out of the classroom. (Source)
